Review the mobile page after an advert click

A campaign can have a clear advert and a confusing destination. Before a South African business spends on a new promotion, review the page a person reaches after the click. The exercise is about understandable promises and instructions, not a forecast of sales or campaign performance.

Follow the promise onto the destination

Write the advert’s main promise in your own working notes, then open the exact destination you intend to use. Check whether the page identifies the same offer, audience and next step. A general homepage may require a reader to search for the item the advert described. Record that gap without assuming a redesign is the only solution. Confirm any price, availability or geographic claim with the business before publishing it. A campaign deadline is not a reason to leave an unverified offer in the message.

Read the form as a first-time visitor

On a phone, identify which fields are required, what format they expect and what the action button says will happen. Clear instructions should be available when the reader needs them, including for people using assistive technology. A placeholder that disappears while typing is not a complete explanation of a complicated requirement. Use harmless test information in an authorised test environment; do not submit invented customer leads to a production inbox as part of a casual review. If the flow asks for personal information, check that its purpose and privacy route are understandable.

Turn observations into a small launch decision

List the issues that would stop someone completing the promised task, separating them from visual preferences. For each issue, assign a concrete correction and a person who can verify it. Recheck the exact page after a fix rather than assuming a design mock-up proves the live flow. Preserve the original brief so that later performance discussions do not quietly change what the campaign was meant to do. A clear mobile destination cannot guarantee a conversion, but it gives the business a fairer test of the actual offer and reduces avoidable confusion after the click.

  • Match the advert promise with the exact destination.
  • Make required fields and the next step understandable.
  • Test safely without generating fake customer submissions.
  • Resolve offer and privacy uncertainty before launch.
