Write a paid-campaign brief before choosing placements
Choosing an advertising platform is easier after the campaign has a clear purpose. Businesses reading in Pretoria and South Africa can prepare a compact brief that describes the customer action they want, the resources available and the evidence they will review.

Name the outcome in business terms
Write what a useful result would mean: a qualified enquiry, a completed purchase or a booking request, for example. Keep it separate from a platform activity such as a click. A campaign can generate activity without answering the original business question if the intended outcome was never defined.
Describe the offer and the intended customer in ordinary language. Avoid assuming that everyone in a province or country is an appropriate audience simply because a targeting tool allows a broad location. The editorial focus of this site does not establish nationwide service delivery, an advertising account relationship or guaranteed reach.
Check the path after the advertisement
Map what happens when someone follows the message: the landing page, information they need, enquiry route and the person responsible for responding. Resolve obvious mismatches before discussing a larger spend. An attractive advertisement cannot by itself make an unavailable offer, unclear price or unanswered enquiry process complete.
Campaign parameters can distinguish referring campaigns when the relevant analytics collection is configured. Use that concept to ask how visits will be identified and which measurements the team can actually review. It is not evidence that this website currently tracks every visit, or that tracking should happen without appropriate privacy choices, permissions and a clear purpose.
Agree the review and decision rules
Record the proposed budget boundaries, reporting period and questions that will guide a review. Ask which outcomes are confirmed and which figures depend on estimates, attribution settings or missing data. Avoid treating a platform forecast as a promise of sales or setting success criteria only after results are available.
Keep a written record of the creative message, audience assumptions and agreed changes. When reviewing the campaign, explain what changed rather than presenting every improvement as proof of a single cause. This brief helps structure a marketing conversation; it does not guarantee return, platform approval or a current service arrangement with the website operator.
- Define a business outcome separately from clicks or impressions.
- Check the offer, landing page and enquiry follow-through.
- Ask how measurement and privacy choices will be handled.
- Agree budget boundaries and review questions before launch.
